Dedicated to promoting business and professional ethics in Hong Kong on a long-term basis, the Hong Kong Ethics Development Centre (EDC) was set up in 1995 under the auspices of the Community Relations Department of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) and with the support of six leading chambers of commerce represented on the Hong Kong Ethics Development Advisory Committee.
The Centre offers a full range of free consultancy services on corporate ethics programs for the business sector. Its services include assistance and advice on formulating, reviewing, and effectively implementing codes of conduct; and on developing and improving system controls to plug corruption loopholes in different functional areas. It also organizes ethics training courses for various levels of staff to enhance their knowledge on anti-corruption laws and the ethical standards of the workforce.
In addition, EDC maintains a dedicated website to provide ethics-related materials including practical guides, training packages, case studies and updates to surfers and over 10,000 subscribers.
